TERMS

The deal, in plain words.

What you can expect from us, what we ask of you, and where the edges are. Short on purpose.

LAST UPDATED 2 SEPTEMBER 2026

Innovate Los Angeles, and this site.

Innovate Los Angeles runs programs for founders building in Los Angeles: a hackathon during LA Tech Week, an incubator, and free mentor office hours for the people in those programs. This website is how you find out about them, apply, and, once you are in, book time with a mentor.

By using the site you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, the site is still yours to read, but please do not apply or book.

Yours to keep safe.

Accounts are created by us when an application is accepted. You choose a password through a link we email you, and you are responsible for keeping it private. If you think someone else has used your account, tell us at team@innovatelosangeles.com and change your password.

We can suspend or close an account that is used to harass people, to book mentors in bad faith, or to get around these terms. We will say why, unless doing so would make the problem worse.

Honest answers, our call.

Applying is free. We ask that what you write is true and is yours. Admission to any program is at our discretion, we do not owe anyone a place, and we do not give reasons for every decision, though we try to reply to everyone who applies.

What you submit stays yours. You give us permission to read it, share it with the people reviewing applications and with any mentor you book, and keep it for as long as the privacy policy says.

Volunteers, not advisors of record.

Mentors give their time for free. Book only when you intend to show up, cancel through your booking link if you cannot, and come prepared. A no-show can be recorded against a booking, and repeated no-shows can cost you access to mentor hours.

What a mentor tells you is their own view, offered in good faith. It is not legal, financial, tax, or investment advice, and it is not a promise from Innovate Los Angeles about any outcome for your company. Decisions are yours.

The short list.

  • Do not pretend to be someone else, or apply on behalf of a person who has not asked you to
  • Do not harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone you meet through us
  • Do not scrape the mentor directory, share booking links with people they were not sent to, or probe the site for weaknesses
  • Do not use mentor hours to sell something to the mentor

If you find a security problem, email us instead of exploiting it. We will thank you and fix it.

Provided as it is.

We work to keep the site accurate and available, and we make no promise that it always will be. Times shown for a mentor come from their calendar and their own settings, and can change. To the extent the law allows, Innovate Los Angeles is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site or of a program. Nothing here limits a liability that cannot be limited by law.

The name, wordmark, and writing on this site belong to Innovate Los Angeles. Link to us freely; do not present our material as your own.

If something here changes, the date at the top does too.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted on this page, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
